WARNING !!!! DO NOT BUY THE MARK 4 !!! It's a joke ! You have to tape the contacts on the cartridge and there is no motor - have to turn it by hand or with your thumb on the gear of the drum. How many drums will you turn with your thumb before blisters develop?
And yet ANOTHER SCAM - Mark III owners also take note: Our LT shut down after 5 years of not being shut off or unplugged with a message to "renew the rental agreement" and it shut the LT down - we can't test anything. Contacting PRI they told us that "the batteries must have run down and the LT lost its programming and will have to be sent back to the factory (in New Zealand) at a cost of $950 PLUS shipping of $900.00!!!! We pulled the cover, the rechargeable battery (without the LT plugged in) was at the rated voltage stated on the battery. When we confronted PRI with this - they have not responded after 3 more emails.
Here's the SCAM- HE controls the codes put into the electronic timer when you get that message. Even though you bought the LT outright, this shut down will occur at HIS direction. Planned obsolescence - great for him - gets to make more money on a poor unsuspecting slob who doesn't know any better! We suspect he has programmed in a 5 year shut down after you buy it - who would suspect foul play? The new Mark 4 also has this computer in it and I'll bet it also has this electronic timer in it also! STAY FAR, FAR, FAR away from this guy and PRI!!! Now we have an $18,000 boat anchor !
